BEI K3 is an “Official Race of the 2019 Vertical World Circuit”.

  1. ORGANIZER

A.S.D. Bikeadventures, headquartered in Borgomanero (Novara), Via Matteotti 52

  1. STRUCTURE AND DURATION OF THE EVENT
  • BEI K3 is a skyrunning event (ascent only), a triple vertical kilometer with 3,030 mt of altitude gap and a length of 9,700 m.
  • The Event will take place on Saturday 27 July 2019:
  • 7:30 a.m. Women start – 8:00 a.m. Men start
  1. CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION METHOD

There will be different classifications, divided for men and women All participants must be older than 18 years at the time of the race It will be mandatory to upload, by Saturday, 20 July 2019 on the website https://shop.endu.net/edit/47547

the sport medical certificate for competitive activity (Athletics / Skyrunning / Trail) with a deadline no earlier than 27 July 2019
Athletes without a federal license insurance that do not include this type of race are obliged to take out a license for insurance.
Foreign athletes will have to download the certificate at the following link: www.vertikalk3.com They will have to have it signed by the doctor and upload it to the site: https://shop.endu.net/edit/47547

Entrants must:

  • be aware of the length and characteristics of the race (race (altitude, technical difficulties,fixed ropes, significant gradients)
  • be perfectly trained to tackle it
  • be sufficiently independent and familiar with the mountain environment in order to be able to effectively deal with problems that may derive from adverse weather conditions (wind, fog, rain, cold, snow)
  • be able to cope with the physical and mental problems caused by major fatigue, problems regarding digestion, muscle or joint pain and minor injuries

In order to be able to take part in the event, each entrant must sign on the web site https://shop.endu.net/edit/47547 a liability disclaimer form

  • A valid ID document must be presented upon collection of the race bib, at the organizer headquarter in Susa on 26/27 July 2019. At the same time, each entrant will receive a goody bag containing a technical clothing
  • Access to the event is subject to payment in full of the entry fee.
  • The procedure for entry is as follows:
Step 1: entry through the website https://shop.endu.net/edit/47547. The entry form must be completed, the regulations accepted and the entry fee paid.

Step 2: collection of race bib and kit at the Tourist Office Corso Inghilterra n. 39 in Susa on Friday the 26 July 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm or the 27 July 2019 from 6:00 am to 7:00 am.

4. THE RACE

  • The procedure for entry is as follows:
  • The start is from Susa (TO), Piazza Savoia(503 m a.s.l.)
Timing will start from the Sanctuary of Mompantero in Susa, located 1.9 km from Piazza Savoia at the moment of  the passage of the first athlete, up to that point you can’t overcome the car or motorbike of the policemen
  • The finish line is at the peak of Monte Rocciamelone (3,538 m a.s.l.)
  • The positive altitude will be: +3,030 m
  • K3 Women start is at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday 27 July 2019
  • K3 Men start is at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday 27 July 2019
  • First NEW checkpoint will be set at Darbunera (1,900 m a.s.l.)
  • Actual altitude gap from departure point: 1,400 m
  • 6 kilometers from departure point
  • Entrants (Women and Men) with a timing higher than 1h50’ to pass the checkpoint Darbunera will be eliminated from the race
  • The runners who have been eliminated will have to walk back down to the centre of Susa
  • A refreshment point will be available for all participants
  • Second checkpoint will be set at d’Asti Mountain Refuge (2,850 m a.s.l.)
  • Actual altitude gap from departure point: 2,330 m
  • 8 kilometers from departure point
  • Only the  females with a timing lower than 3h15’ and the males with a timing lower than   
   3h00’ will be allowed to reach the peak of mount Rocciamelone
  • The runners who have been eliminated will have to walk back along the marked path to the car park of the Riposa Refuge (approx. 1800 m), where they will find a shuttle service to take them back to the centre of Susa.
  • A refreshment point will be available for all participants
  • Finish line for K3 will be set at the top of Monte Rocciamelone (3,538 m a.s.l.)
  • Actual altitude gap from departure point: 3,030 m
  • 9.7 kilometers from departure point
  • A refreshment point will be available for all participants
  • Runners will have to walk back along the marked path to the car park of the Riposa Refuge (approx. 1800 m), where they will find a shuttle service to take them back to the centre of Susa (since the road is very narrow and winding, waiting times can be long), whoever wants to return to Susa on foot, it will be possible on the path of the race.
  • In Mompantero  seat A.I.B. Fraz. Marzano Grangia 7 a pasta party will be available

5. COST

Registrations will open on the First April 2019
Maximum number of participants 700
Entry fee for each competitor:

  • From 1 April 2019 to 30 June 2019: 30
  • From 1 July 2019 to 20 July 2019: 40€
    On 26 July a limited number of bibs will be available at the organizer headquarter in Susa at the cost of 50€ if the number of 700 members is not reached.

6. AWARDS

In K3 ranking list prizes will be awarded to the first three men and the first three women to reach the finishing line:

  • 1st man/woman: 600.00€
  • 2nd man/woman: 400.00€
  • 3rd man/woman: 200.00€

Prizes consisting of technical material provided by the sponsors of the event will be awarded to the first 10 men and the first 5 women to reach the finishing line

Race records: men record 200 €, women record 200 €

Who finishes the race will receive the “finisher” prize.

7. SAFETY AND ASSISTANCE/RESCUE

All participants must assist anyone in difficulty along the route, and alert the rescue services if necessary.
Participants who have taken time out in order to assist a fellow competitor injured or in difficulty may request that the Grand Jury apply a reduction to their final race time.
Qualified personnel will be present at the event to provide support to the safety officers positioned along the route and equipped with radios and telephones for communication.
Compulsory material for competitors:

  • Jacket in Gore-tex or similar material suitable for high altitude
  • Gloves
  • Hat/Bandana
    In case of retiring from the race along the route, the competitor is obliged, as soon as he has the opportunity, to go to the nearest checkpoint, communicate his retire by registering, communicate it to the organization (see numbers on the bib) and deliver bib.

8. ENVIRONMENT & DISQUALIFICATIONS

Competitors must behave respectfully towards the mountain environment. They must not scatter litter, pick flowers or plants or disturb the wildlife.
Anyone caught leaving litter behind along the route will be disqualified and will be fined as contemplated in the municipal regulations.

9. INSURANCE

The organization takes out insurance for civil liability, each individual athlete is advised to take out insurance.

10. IMAGE RIGHTS

By registering, the competitors authorize the organization to use, for free, without territorial and time limits, still and moving images that portray them on the occasion of participation in K3.

11. DECLARATION OF LIABILITY

The voluntary registration and subsequent participation in the race indicate the full acceptance of this regulation and any changes that may have been made. By registering, the participant exempts the organizers from any liability, both civil and criminal, for damages to persons and / or things caused by him or to him.
